4th NMR Workshop - Hands on Training July 29th – 2nd August 2024

The Department of Chemistry, University of Nairobi, through the Kenya National Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Center (KNMRC) has organized  for the Fourth (4th)  Regional Hands-on NMR Training Workshop from 29th July 2024 - 2nd Aug 2024. The successful applicants who had applied for the call for application for this training will be trained on various NMR techniques and applications  that includes Introduction to NMR Spectroscopy, Theory of NMR Spectroscopy, Factors affecting Chemical Shifts in 1H NMR Spectroscopy, Spin-Spin Splitting in 1H NMR Spectroscopy, Simple 1H NMR problem solving, NMR Spectroscopy - Chemical Shifts, DEPT, APT, Problem solving session on 13C NMR spectroscopy, NMR Laboratory (sample preparation, running and processing), Running 1D NMR and processing, Introduction to 2D NMR Spectroscopy: H,H COSY, HSQC/HMQC, HMBC, Special 1D NMR, NOEDIF, NOESY/ROESY, Running and Processing of 2D NMR, Interpretation of Combined NMR Spectra, Determination of Relative Configuration and Position of Substituents using NMR based on Coupling Constant and the Application of NMR Spectroscopy in Inorganic Chemistry and other techniques. The successful applicants are drawn from various sectors of economy, academia and ministries from the region.
