The Department of Chemistry organized a partnership meeting with HACO Industry which was held on 13th June 2023 at the Faculty of Science Boardroom to discuss the work plan after the two institutions signed a Cooperation Agreement last year. The partnership established with HACO Industry ltd is aimed at enhancing the capacity of the two institutions to fulfill their respective mission & objectives through academic & industrial engagements & linkages..
In his remarks, the Chairman, Department of Chemistry, Prof. David K. Kariuki highlighted the key areas the two institutions have already benefited through this cooperation agreement where the students from the Department already been absorbed through internship and industrial attachments by HACO industry. The Department on the other hand has sent team of researchers to advice HACO on cost effective ways of discharging the sludge/effluent in the factory.
Associate Dean, Prof. Mulaa who was representing the Dean, Faculty of Science & Technology encouraged the two institutions to strengthen the cooperation between the academic institutions and Industry.
The two institutions agreed on the three year work plan on the specific key areas highlighted in the cooperation agreement.
