Nurturing talent is about knowing your team and enabling each team member to play to their own strengths by offering the appropriate training and opportunities for them to achieve their potentials. Its all about building the knowledge, skills and abilities of others and helping them realized their potentials.
This year, the University of Nairobi set aside UoN Talent Day, 12th March 2021 to showcase diverse talents from students in various categories including Music, Taekwondo, Modelling, Art & Design, ICT, Engineering e.t.c. The event was organized by the UoN Dean of students & Career services office.
The Talent Day was attended by theUniversity Community both physical and virtual. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen G. Kiama, expressed his gratitude to every contestant who registered to participate and more so those picked to showcase their talent. The VC’s commitment to nurturing talent for both students and staff is in line with the University’s Philosophy on the need to connect and inspire the Kenyan Community through hope and faith so that the society can excel in whatever it chooses to do with passion, moral responsibility and a strong sense of patriotism. The Deputy Vice Chancellors both Academic Affairs and Finance, Planning and Development, Prof. Julius Ogeng’o and Prof. Margaret Hutchinson, respectively, acknowledged the concentration of talents and affirmed the management’s commitment to develop and nurture talents at the University.
