4TH YEAR STUDENTS CAREER MENTORSHIP WORKSHOP

The Department of Chemistry through the Departmental mentorship committee organized career mentorship  workshop targeting all  fourth year students undertaking Chemistry programmes on Friday 22nd March 2024. The aim of this workshop is to prepare students for job market as they transition from the University to the outside world.

 

In his remarks, Chairman Prof. D.K. Kariuki urged the students to take advantage of the series of mentorship & training workshops the department is organizing for them as such seeks to expose them to the competitive job market in trying to align the practical knowledge & skills gained in class and what the employers are looking for.

 

Mr. Jack Ronge, Research & Development Manager-Innovations, Lipton Teas & Infusions company and Mr. Brian Maghanga, Exports Sales Manager, Zena Energy company who are also University of Nairobi, Department of Chemistry Alumni took them through how to craft a wining C.V, Linkedin, cover letter and how to conduct yourself during the interview. These soft skills are very critical to the final year students as they transition to the competitive job market.
